The Londonderry United Methodist Food Church Ministry is a ministry of local and regional partners committed to educating about and diminishing food insecurity. We invite the local worshipping community to generously donate money, time, and skills in the work of gardening and packaging food. We also assist the worshipping community and those outside of the community who participate in helping people identify, nurture and equip themselves with the resource to become self-sufficient. At times, these tasks seem futile and yet, we recognize that change and hope are fulfilled one relationship at a time. We emphasize ministry with marginalized women, children and the elderly.
We partner with the USDA Food Program as well as the NH Food Bank where we receive canned goods as well as perishable foods. We also partner with two local farms, SunnyCrest Farm and Moose Hill Orchards for fresh produce. We participate in the Fresh Rescue Program at local grocers, Hannaford's of Londonderry/Derry and shop at Market Basket of Tewksbury, MA to purchase bread, desserts and perishables such as milk and bananas. The Food Ministry also has a Blessing Box outside the church where people can pick-up food who are not yet in the program but are in need. In this box, you will find a variety of foods each week.
If you would like to contribute to our Food Ministry and/or Blessing Box, please contact the church office at 603-432-7083.
