First United Methodist Church’s Food Pantry is the second largest in Manchester. It is open in the basement of First UMC every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. There are no requirements to receive food except to fill out an application. The amount of food given out depends on the size of the family being served. The Parish Nurse is also available on most Tuesdays to provide free blood pressure checks and referrals for food pantry guests.

Londonderry United Methodist Church collects non-perishable food continuously and donates it regularly to the Food Pantry.  Once a year we make an extra effort with a month of "Pounding the Food Pantry."  We challenge ourselves to bring a pound of food each Sunday for each family member attending church.  You can place the food by each of the church entrances.  Following each service the donations will be stacked around the altar.  We have also been sending volunteers to help at the site of the food pantry on Tuesdays.

We also welcome cash donations which will be given to help the First UMC Food Pantry buy perishable food.  And we continue to welcome clothing donations which are collected in the fellowship hall and delivered to the food pantry for distribution.  Our church has already committed five hundred dollars from our annual mission giving to the food pantry at FUMC.  If you would like to make an additional gift, use the Mission of the month envelope located in the church pews and check that your gift is for the Manchester Food Pantry.
