May Mission of the Month
Our mission of the month for May is the Food Pantry at the First United Methodist Church in Manchester, NH. You may be aware that our collection of non-perishable food is donated to that pantry on a regular basis. The missions committee wants to challenge us once again this year to step up to another level of giving during the month of May. We want to pound the food pantry at FUMC. What we mean is every Sunday in May, we challenge you to bring a pound of food each Sunday for each member of your family who comes to church. That’s not a reason to stay home, but another reason to come as we join with FUMC in feeding those who might otherwise go hungry. You can place the food by each of the church entrances and following each service the donations will be stacked around the altar
If it is difficult for you to bring food items themselves, we also welcome cash donations, which will be given to help the pantry buy perishable food. Our church has already committed five hundred dollars from our annual mission giving to the food pantry at FUMC. If you would like to make an additional gift, use the Mission of the month envelope located in the church pews and check that your gift is for the Manchester Food Pantry.
